Preface

This story, The Lady House Surgeon is
All concocted, All imaginary
 and  relates to none.
 Any resemblance with characters,
Events and Places,  if any, may be a mere chance.
The Lady Characters like Prerna and Reema are
All imaginary and fictitious
And never existed in flesh and blood.
Prerna is just like the Lucy Gray of Wordsworth.
Every effort has been made
and much pains has been taken
to make the story look and feel
true and real.
The main aim of the story is to create
Awareness about AIDS and
Prevention of Heart Attacks.
There is a discussion about
Waltman-Walter syndrome a  very rare complication of Gall Bladder surgery .

When the synopsis of this story
Was shown to the family members
None were none-too-pleased.
Persons who appreciated this story
Were none other than my youngest son,
Mr. Ashish Baidyanathan &
My youngest daughter
Ms. Apurva Baidyanathan,
Who not only appreciated but also
Inspired me very much.
My wife was angry and agitated
On the mere ground that this story appears to be very sexy and dialogues will go against my
Prestige and personality.
She tore and burnt the synopsis to ashes.
But she didn’t know that the story was written on my soul in tears.
Then I narrated the trouble and showed the  Story to an educationist friend of mine
Who is a lady Principal.
She is very homely and friendly to me.
I asked her “Will any of the dialogues of the story go against my prestige and personality?”
She replied,” this story is meant for persons
Who have ever loved someone truly,
Who have a heart in their thoracic cavity to feel
And tears in their eyes to shed.
I don’t know whether this story will be appreciated locally or not due to various reasons. But I can assure you
That this story will
Sell like hot cake all over India and abroad.
As this story is very touchy,
Very simple and suitable
Words have been used in a musical tone,
Emotions and dialogues seem to be
Quite real and natural,
Besides, this story is filled with female psychology, philosophy of life.
I have never come across a story
 written like this.
This is  unique in its approach and style.
I can’t explain the why, but I believe this
as the real incident
which often happens in the go of life.
Love does not count on caste, creed, religion, richness or poverty. It is a trait of living beings. Flower attracts bees, this is a chemical process known as chemotaxis .what to talk of living beings, magnet attracts iron not gold, this is called affinity or true love.
Nobody is at fault then why to feel guilty.
Actually this story resembles the English film ‘Titanic’. In Titanic a very old lady remembers her pre- marital love, likewise in this story a very old surgeon has remembered his love with a girl of his class while in medical college.
In  both the stories the ladies-love were unduly rich compared to the male protagonists
In the movie, Titanic the story starts
With the ship and ends with the sinking of the ship.
This story , too, starts with entry into a
Medical college and ends with the
Finishing of medical course.
And both the stories ended in tragedy.
I personally feel that you could not restrict yourself to a stethoscope or surgical knives,
 It is most unbecoming, unbefitting,
unusual and uncommon for a surgeon
To have such a deep sense of literature.
 I really, appreciate this
  Story very much.
It is really very easy to speak
but hard to keep mum.
It is really very easy to criticize
But Hard to appreciate.”

I read the whole story in one go, and found it touching. The love you shared for her is evident in the whole ode. I really appreciate your very gesture of spreading awareness about AIDS and heart diseases.

Appreciate your family member's support for this story to become possible.

    Wish you good health, sir.
